Our Goal is to reduce barriers to school enrollment and achievement so that
children from families who are experiencing homelessness have a "full and equal opportunity" to succeed in school.
In December 2013, Heartland Credit Union held their annual holiday giving project "Give Local," and invited other credit unions to join them. Each holiday season, they choose an organization to benefit with the goal of raising awareness and money. MMSD's Transition Education Program (TEP) was chosen as the receiving organization this year, and they raised over $30,000 for students experiencing homelessness in Madison. You can still support the Transition Education Program by donating through the Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools website.
Services include, but are not limited to advocacy, transportation, school supplies, resource and staff development, community education about homelessness and mobility and coordination with community partners. Download the TEP Brochure
